Zippos Today

More than 400 million Zippos have been produced since the year 1932. Mr Zippo did a very good job at making the Zippo well designed since virtually the design has stayed unchanged since its creation more than fifty years ago.

A major change which ocurred to all Zippos in the 70's was the incorporation of a better Zippo-resistance against the elements. This held true for windy days in which zippos turned out to be extremely reliable. Afterward, the Zippo Corporation looked for a better way to make a Zippo withstand rain - ultimately, Zippos have a good ignition when facing rain.

One must notice, however; that Zippos are very effective. Their engine is built so that they are virtually resistant against any weather conditions and can be brought to almost anywhere in the World.
