How to Choose The Right Metal DetectorFor you to buy the best metal detector to suit your personal needs, you must take into account many variables:
Budget- The old saying, "What you pay is what you get" is especially true in metal detectors. The more you are willing to spend, the better your metal detector will be. However, take into account that this varies - for kids cheap metal detectors might be better than for, say, a skilled treasure hunter.
Experience - If you have never treasure hunted before, then it is probably a much better idea to buy a cheap metal detector. If you don't like tresure hunting, the loss will be minimal - opposed to buying a good metal detector (which may cost thousands of dollars) to later become bored and abandon the detector.
Brand - Personally, I have found Tesoro to be the best metal detecting company. They have a very good guarantee and I have never have had any problems with any of their detectors - neither have my friends who enjoy treasure hunting as well.
Location - If you are going to treasure hunt inland, then you should buy a detector suitable to find treasures inland. If you are going to treasure hunt on the beach, then you should get a proper water-proof detector.
Remember to always seek help from an experienced treasure hunter (if he can help you choose a detector, much better) there are many treasure hunting clubs scattered throughout the world, so it's just a matter to find one and seek advice from them (they will give you many useful tips which I am unable to give through this page).
My last piece of advice is to stop thinking and buy! Even though detectors are different, the difference is not so great and important as to spend many hours contemplating each different detector. Use that precious time to find a treasure instead... it will be well worth it!
