History of Taser Guns

Tasers were first idealized in the year 1991 in Scottsdale, Arizona. As the story "goes", the reason why Tasers were created is because two brothers, Rick and Tom Smith, longed to reduce "overall violence from the World". The brothers along with the main inventor, Jack Cover, began their long quest to create the first Taser in September of 1993.

From then, Tasers evolved tremendously. Just a few years later, in the late 1990's almost every police officer in Canada (and many in the U.S) were equipped with a Taser.

In the year 1994, the ATC (Air Taser Corp.) certified that Air Tasers were not to be accounted as "Fire Arms". Henceforth, they are not subject to the same regulations as the latter - giving civilians the possibility to own one.

In the year 1998, the Air Taser Corporation changed its name to the "Taser Corporation" for branding and commercial purposes. Out of the 100,000 citizen Tasers sold during the last decade, most are attributed to the reputation of the Taser company for its provided safety and reliability.

However, despite the safety meassurements to which Tasers are subject to, many officials have filed a lawsuit against the Taser Corporation for "Long Term Injuries" - currently, the Taser Corporation is still fighting against such claims as they keep their "Saving Lives Every Day" motto.
