Beach SweepingYou wake up early to strike the beach with your metal detector only to find out that the beach has been raked. Unfortunately, this is an increasingly popular trend. Some heavily populated beaches are now often being cleaned. These beach sweepers are stealing possible good finds. They collect almost every item located in the sand. These items include unwanted debris such as seaweed, cigarettes, and glass. As well as collecting trash- coins, jewelry, and other metals are picked up. This may leave beaches barren for treasure hunters.
Don't become upset too fast, because there are ways to work around the use of these machines. Some cities run their beach cleaning equipment every morning while others only run them once per week. If they are being run every morning, it's recommended to do your metal detecting in the evening. As for the cities that run beach sweepers once per week, a larger time frame is open for seeking treasure.
Please keep in mind that not all items are picked up. It is possible for coins to fall through the cleaning grid. Searching the area where these machines make their dumps could be a rewarding idea. If you are able to locate these piles, it may be worth checking out.
